Elizabeth L. ‘Betty’ Mallory, 77 of Punxsutawney, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015 at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Mrs. Mallory was born June 16, 1938 in Punxsutawney. A daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Reed) Strano. Mrs. Mallory was a member of St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church.
She enjoyed bingo and time with all of her grands and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Janet Painter and husband Richard of Rochester Mills, brothers James Strano and wife Peggy of Morgantown, WV, Ronald Strano and wife Jenny of Punxsutawney, sisters Pauline Katus of North Tonawanda, NY, Rita Geist of Punxsutawney, Rose Materko and husband Butch of Delancy, Jean Thompson and husband Tom of Sprankle Mills, grandchildren Jason Painter and Stacey Domb, Tara Painter, Steven Painter and wife Melissa, great grandchildren Bree Shank, Shilynn Shank, Hannah Painter, Jada Rhodes, Makenzie Painter, and great-great grandchild Carson Lansberry.
Friends will be received from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney where a Parastas will be held at 7 PM.
A Divine Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday at 10 AM at the St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church with Father Simeon Sibenek as Celebrant.
Internment will follow at St. Peter & Paul Byzantine Cemetery. Donations may be made in Mrs. Mallory’s name to the American Cancer Society.
