Elizabeth Mary Barker, Age 49 of 99 Ice Plant Road, DuBois, PA died Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Penn Highlands DuBois.
Born on January 25, 1966 in St. Cloud, MN, she was the daughter of Corrine (Wolters) Klemz. Her mother survives and lives in DuBois, PA.
On June 26, 2004, she married Gilbert J. Barker, Jr. He survives.
Beth was employed by Sunny 106.5 & WCED 1420 Radio for over 20 years. She worked in many capacities at the radio station and was well known on the air as Beth Walters.
She grew up in Cold Spring, Minnesota where she was a 1984 graduate of ROCORI High School. She was a graduate of St. Cloud State University where she was also a member of the St. Cloud Alumni Association.
She was a member of We R Survivors Cancer Support Group, the Oklahoma Elementary School PTA, and was associated locally with the Boy Scouts of America program. For years, she was the host of the Scholastic Challenge in DuBois, and she was a DuBois Panther Football Mom.
Beth was the much beloved mother of her 2 sons, Gilbert and Walter Barker. She enjoyed gardening, outdoor activities and spending time with her two Gifts from God.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents (Alphonse & Margaret Wolters)
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Goble-Baronick Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor David Bish officiating.
Although flowers are appreciated, the family suggests that memorials be placed with the Anglemans Syndrome Foundation, 75 Executive Drive, Suite 327, Aurora, IL 60504 and/or Penn Highlands Home Health/Hospice, 100 Hospital Ave., DuBois, PA 15801
