Ella Mae Stubbs

Ella Mae Stubbs, 83, of Walburn Run Road Brockway, PA died on Monday December 13, 2021 at her residence.

Born on June 18, 1938 in DuBois, PA; she was the daughter of the late John and Twila Chatfield Zuchowski. On March 30, 1957 she was married to Ronald E. Stubbs and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2020.

Retired, Ella Mae had been employed as a Packer at Brockway Glass for 37 years retiring in 1993.

Ella Mae attended the Brockway Church of God. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, camping and canning vegetables grown out of the garden. She also enjoyed going on shopping trips with her sisters, her daughter-in-law Sherry and all of her granddaughters. Ella Mae also loved building puzzles on her dining room table.

Her greatest joy came from spending time with her husband. They were almost never apart.

She is survived by a son Kelvin Stubbs of DuBois; two brothers John Zuchowski of Virginia and Joe (Cathy) Zuchowski also of Virginia; two sisters: Betty Lou who was married to the late Ray Pollino of Kersey and Kay (Ted) Kalgren of Brockport. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she is also preceded in death by an infant son Edward, a son Ronald Stubbs who always said “Ella Mae was the best mom ever;” her daughter-in-law Sherry Stubbs; a sister Darlene Wells and a brother Donald Zuchowski.

Calling hours will be on Friday December 17 from 5PM to 8PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18 at 11 AM also at the Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens in Ridgway.
