Elva M Spangler20150506_18425546 (1)Elva M. Spangler, 88, of Brookville, PA, formerly of Ohl, died Wednesday May 6, 2015 at Penn Highlands Hospital in Brookville, PA.

Born April 13, 1927, in Beaver Twp, Jefferson Co, PA., she was the daughter of the late Haven and Maggie Smith Spangler.

Elva was a graduate of Brookville High School in 1944. She was employed by Sylvania for twenty years and later worked at the Jefferson Manor as a dietary aide until her retirement in 1991.

Elva was a member of the Ohl United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

Elva is survived by a brother James Spangler from Erie, a sister in law and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, Elva is preceded in death by three brothers; Mervin “Mose” Spangler, Jennings “Sonny” Spangler, Alfred “Bus” Spangler, and three sisters; Marie Spangler, Esther Phillips, and Martha Reitz.

Her family will receive friends on Saturday May 9, 2015, from 9 – 11 am at the Furlong Funeral Home, Gregory K. Furlong FD, corner of Broad St. and First Ave., Summerville. The funeral service will follow at 11 am.

Interment will follow in the Ohl Cemetery, Beaver Twp., Jefferson County, PA.

Per the family’s request memorial donations may be made to the Ohl United Methodist Church at 3229 Heathville Ohl Rd, Summerville, PA 15864.
