Emergency Crews Respond to Crash in Brookville

BROOKVILLE BOROUGH, Pa. (EYT) – The Pennsylvania State Police have released details surrounding a recent motor vehicle accident on Interstate 80 near Brookville Borough on Wednesday morning.

According to police, around 9:54 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 38-year-old William F. Frantz, of Clearfield, was operating a 2005 Kia Sportage, traveling west on Interstate 80 near mile marker 79.6 in the left lane.

Police say the vehicle drifted off the left side of the road as it was rounding a slight right-hand curve. The vehicle then struck the left guide rail and continued traveling west for approximately 370 feet before coming to a final rest facing west.

Frantz was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The vehicle sustained moderate damage to its left front corner and along its driver’s side. The vehicle’s left steer wheel/tire and axle assembly separated from the vehicle as a result of the impact with the guide rail and posts. The vehicle was removed from the scene by McPherson Towing.

Frantz was determined to be at fault and was cited for a lane violation.
