Emergency Crews Respond to Two-Vehicle Crash on Route 119

BIG RUN, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police say a two-vehicle accident occurred in Big Run on Tuesday evening.

According to police, around 5:56 p.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 24-year-old Michele S. Lingenfelter, of DuBois, was operating a 2015 Chevrolet Malibu on State Route 119 in Big Run Borough, Jefferson County.

Lingenfelter was stopped on the road, waiting for a vehicle in front of him to make a turn when he was hit from behind by a 2013 Kia Sorento driven by 50-year-old Carmella F. Rodkey, of DuBois, who police say was not paying attention.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and escaped injuries.

Rodkey’s vehicle sustained front-end damage and suspected engine coolant was leaking from the vehicle. It was towed from the scene.

Lingenfelter’s vehicle sustained functional damage to the rear of the vehicle.

Rodkey was cited for a traffic violation.
