Emma B. Horn Royer

Emma B. (Horn) Royer, 91, of Greene Township, peacefully passed away on October 9, 2018, at her residence.

She was born in DuBois on April 9, 1927 a daughter of the late William and Viola (Gearhart) Horn.

Emma was a devoted, wife, mother and grandmother. Together with her husband of 66 years, they raised eleven children. Her family was her life. She loved unconditionally and believed with all her heart in second chances. She welcomed people into her home as if they were her own. Her friends were many in numbers and ages. Her favorites were the babies and teenagers. Turning someone away was never an option. Besides caring for her family she enjoyed the Pittsburgh Pirates, doing word search puzzles, playing the lottery and knitting. She will be remembered always for her home-baked rolls.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard “Bud” Royer in 2013, a son Eric Jon Royer and a brother Richard “Jim” Horn.

Emma is survived by her children, Suzanne Haynes (late Rodney) of Harborcreek, Richard Royer of North East, Beverly Hamilton of West Palm Beach, Florida, James Royer and his wife Jackie of Cape Coral, Florida, Lisa Spyker and her husband David of Greene Township, William Royer (late Rose) of Erie, Patrick Royer and his wife Heidi of Erie, Michael Royer and his wife Brenda of Harborcreek, Paul Royer of Erie and Jennifer Royer of West Palm Beach, Florida; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Royer of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Helen Jenny of DuBois; 29 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to visit on Sunday, October 21, 2018, at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street from 2:00 p.m. until the time of a service at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Mary Stewart. Burial will be private at Mount of Olives Cemetery.
