The Curve (62-57) finish the season series with a 5-8 record against the Thunder (78-41).

Escobar hit a walk-off single for the second straight night, scoring Michael Suchy who doubled to lead off the 1oth inning.

Down 4-3 entering the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Jin-De Jhang singled to lead off the frame. With the bases loaded, Suiter brought in Jhang with an RBI ground out to force extra-innings.

Altoona struck first in the second inning. Wyatt Mathisen singled with one out and was later brought home on an RBI single by Escobar.

In the third, Suiter crushed a two-run home run, his ninth of the season, to extend the Curve’s lead to 3-0.

In the fifth, Zach Zehner gave Trenton the lead with one swing of the bat. The right-handed hitter blasted a grand slam to left field off of Casey Sadler to give the Thunder a 4-3 lead before Altoona stormed back.

The win moves Altoona to 7-7 in extra-inning games this season. It was also their 23rd come-from-behind win.

Sadler allowed four earned runs on 11 hits in seven innings. Cody Dickson pitched a scoreless eighth inning and Brandon Cumpton (Win, 2-3) pitched two scoreless frames.

Thunder starter Daniel Camarena allowed three runs (two earned) on seven hits in 5.2 innings. Andrew Schwaab and Cody Carroll combined for 2.1 scoreless innings in relief and Cale Coshow (Loss, 2-5) surrendered the winning run in the tenth.

Altoona will hit the road for a three-team, nine-game road trip beginning Tuesday night in Portland against the Sea Dogs. The Curve will send right-hander J.T. Brubaker (6-4, 4.65) to the mound, while Portland will counter with right-hander Teddy Stankiewicz (4-4, 5.07). First pitch from Hadlock Field in Portland is scheduled for 7 p.m.
