Esposito Fuels Brockway Win Against DCC in Baseball

BROCKWAY, Pa. (D9Sports) – Scoring six times in the first two innings, Brockway hit five doubles on its way to a 9-6 win over visiting DuBois Central Catholic snapped in the Cardinals six-game win streak while handing DCC just its second loss of the season.

Jarrett Esposito led the charge going 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles, a run scored and two RBIs. Angelo Inzana and Jesse Johnson also drove in a pair of runs each with Johnson going 1-for-4 with a run scored and Inzana 1-for-4 with a double and a run scored.

Also for the Rovers, Matthew Clark and Andrew Trunzo chipped in doubles with each player going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored. Erik Botwright was also 2-for-2 with a run scored and Hunter Antonuccio 1-for-2 with two walks, a run scored and an RBI.

Dom Torretti hit a home run for DCC while going 3-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI. Tyler McIntosh was also 3-for-4 with a run scored for the Cardinals, while Jack Frank was 1-for-3 with a walk, a run scored and two RBIs.

Santinio Inzana got the win going five innings allowing six runs, three earned, on 12 hits and two walks while striking out two. Angelo Inzana picked up the save going two innings allowing one hit while striking out two.

Thomas Grecco took the loss going one-plus inning allowing six runs, two earned, on three hits and two walks while striking out two.
