Esther L. Brestovich

Esther L. Brestovich, 92, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Christ the King Manor.

She was born March 5, 1924, in Panic, a daughter of the late Mable (Hayes) and Eli Hollenbaugh.

On June 19, 1948, she married Edward G. Brestovich, who preceded her in death on July 16, 1995.

Esther was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with family, and loved her grandchildren.

Surviving relatives include two children, Bonnie Amundson and Larry Notestine of DuBois, and Larry Brestovich and wife Cookie of Punxsutawney; three grandchildren, Jeff Amundson, Julie VanScoyoc, and Mandy Brestovich; nine great grandchildren; a brother, Albert Hollenbaugh and two sisters, Doris Thunberg and Francis Fisher; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Michael Brestovich, a grandson Matthew Brestovich, and siblings Luella, David, John, Sara, and Toby.

Friends will be received from 3 to 5 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 5 p.m., Monday, November 28, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Durr officiating

Interment will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Reynoldsville.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Brestovich, to the Crosstown Food Pantry.
