Esther M. Sallack

Esther M. Sallack, Age 102, formerly of Home Camp & Johnsonburg, PA, died on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born on Sept. 6, 1913 in Weedville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Rex & Lena (Brown) Gray.

On June 9, 1932, in Johnsonburg, she married Harry Alvan Sallack, who preceded her in death on March 25, 2005.

Mrs. Sallack was a homemaker and was a member of both the Home Camp United Methodist Church, and the First United Methodist Church in Johnsonburg. She was a past matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed knitting and sewing.

She is survived by two sons (A. Eugene Sallack and his wife Donna of Johnsonburg, PA and Oren L. Sallack and his wife Sally of Punxsutawney, PA), a sister Mildred of Illinois, 13 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren and 4 step great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Charmaine LaRock,
a brother (Rex Gray, Killed in action in World War II), & 3 sisters (Florence Taylor, Ruth Beck, & Virginia Haldeman)

Friends will be received on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. from the Goble- Baronick Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home with Pastor Rick Howe officiating.

Interment will follow in Morningside Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Johnsonburg First United Methodist Church, 5 Clarion Road, Johnsonburg, PA 15845.
