Esther R. “Ray” Hart, 84, of Clearfield, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at Ridgeview Elder Care and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Hart was born May 3, 1934 in Bladenboro, NC, the daughter of Percy Hughes and Mabel (Hall) Hughes-Smith.
She had worked for BF Goodrich, Goodwill, Brody’s and Paul’s Restaurant and Cocktail Lounge which she was co-owner with her husband.
Mrs. Hart was a member of the NON of Clearfield, ROA Auxilary and Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post No. 6 Auxilary.
She is survived by four children; Carole Anne Eby of DuBois, Timothy G. Hart and his wife Elaine, Michele Waroquier, and Allison Hart all of Clearfield, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, five siblings; Pat Hollis, Bud Hughes, Randy Hughes, Vin Burnside and Jan Hargest and a number of nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hart was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, George M. Hart who passed away January 23, 1986 and whom she married December 19, 1952, a son, George M. Hart, Jr., two sisters; Margie Aloi and Clara Mae Hughes and a brother, Rudolph Hughes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, December 7, 2018 at the Bennett and Houser Funeral Home, Inc. of Clearfield with Rev M. Bruce Dimmick officiating.
Friends will be received at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 PM until the hour of services.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
