Evelyn Jean White

Evelyn Jean White, 75 of Juneau, passed away Thursday, November 13, 2014 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Mrs. White was born November 28, 1938 in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late John and Edna (Sutter) Williard. She is preceded in death by her husband Harry W. White, Sr. Evelyn was a volunteer for Punxsutawney Area Hospital and Community Action where she was awarded Volunteer of the Year in 2012.

She loved bingo, doing yard work, word searches and was avid at crocheting. She was a devoted grandmother and spent as much time as she could with her grandchildren.

She is survived by a son; Harry “Butch” White of Juneau and friend Missy Sprankle of Rossiter, a daughter; Brenda McCullough and husband Fred of Punxsutawney, sisters; Nancy Winebark and husband Dwight of Juneau, Mary “Mickey” Solada of DuBois, Judy Huey and husband Joe of Greentown, Indiana, grandchildren; Ashley White of Baltimore, MD., Jerod White of Juneau, brother in law; Paul White and wife Joyce of Kingston, NY. and her very good friend; Mary Richardson of Rossiter.

In addition to her husband Harry, she is preceded in death by sisters; Betty Manners and an infant sister; Marjorie Ann.

Friends will be received from 4-7 pm Sunday, November 16, 2014 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney. A funeral service will be held at 11 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Flick officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery, Rochester Mills.
