Evelyn M. Simbeck, 87 of Robinson Street, DuBois, PA, died Thursday, January 25, 2018, at the home of her daughter.
Born on August 29, 1930, in DuBois, PA, she was the daughter of the late Bernard & Bertha (Mehok) Kartavich.
On July 4, 1964, she married Joseph R. Simbeck. He preceded her in death on August 7, 2004.
Evelyn was a homemaker and had worked at JJ Newberry for over 15 years.
She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church. Evelyn enjoyed reading, attending community concerts, and loved to go to the DuBois Public Library. She like to watch NBA basketball and loved her Pittsburgh Pirates.
She is survived by two children, Joseph E. Simbeck and his wife Kelly, and Mary R. Carlson and her husband, Tim, both of DuBois, PA, a sister, Sister Rita Kartavich, RSM of Erie, PA, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Johnston, and an infant brother, Frank Kartavich.
There will be no public visitation.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 29, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. Richard Siefer as celebrant.
Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
