Evelyn Mae Vanderpool

23252525Evelyn Mae Vanderpool, 84 of Punxsutawney, passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Vanderpool was born May 27, 1930 in Juneau a daughter of the late Harry and Lola (Stiver) Sloniger.

She attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Evelyn is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, David Vanderpool of Punxsutawney. They were married June 11, 1948.

In addition to her husband David, she is survived by five children; Ronnie Vanderpool and wife Susie of Salem, VA., Karen Burinda and husband Wayne of Wentzille, MO., Elaine Chiplis and husband Bill of Punxsutawney, Gary Vanderpool and wife Toni of Dubois, Eddy Vanderpool and wife Terry of Punxsutawney, eleven grandchildren; Dave Vanderpool, Dana Callaway, Mike Vanderpool, Leroy Grusky, Traci LaPrade, Julie Baun, ScottVanderpool, Jesse Chiplis, Krystin Pogue, Chad Chiplis, Tony Chiplis, nineteen great grandchildren, brothers; Ray Sloniger and wife Shirley of Punxsutawney, Bob Sloniger of Phoenix, AZ., sister; Florence Fetterman and husband Fred of Alexandria, VA. and her sister in law; Lois Vanderpool of Punxsutawney.
Friends will be received from 2­4 & 6­8 pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the McCabe Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 2 pm Sunday at the funeral home with Rev. Steve Cassidy and Pastor Tom Spiker officiating. Interment will follow at Lakelawn Memorial Park, Reynoldsville. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Weslryn Methodist Church, 113 Lincoln Way, Punxsutawney, PA. 15767
