Evelyn R. Lettie, 97, formerly of Punxsutawney, died Monday, February 2, 2015, at Jefferson Manor Health Center, in Brookville.
Born February 15, 1917, in Timblin, she was the daughter of Clair and Letha (Doak) Shumaker.
She married Robert M. Lettie on October 30, 1943, who preceded her in death on June 21, 1996.
Evelyn was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed the company of her family and many friends. She was a long time member of the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney, serving as a Sunday School and Bible School teacher, and attended adult Sunday School.
She is survived by one son, Rex Lettie and wife Laurie of Punxsutawney, and several brothers and sisters: Shirley Caylor of Ringgold; Marian Reed of Milesburg; Lorraine McGarrity of Oak Ridge; and Ronald Shumaker of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arnold Shumaker, and five sisters: Helen Reed; Alma (White) Selle; Doris Reitz; Marie Shumaker; and Mary Cathryn Shumaker.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney with the Reverend Brett Swanson officiating.
Internment will be in Circle Hill Cemetery in Punxsutawney.
In lieu of flower, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Punxsutawney.
