CLARION, Pa. (EYT) – EYT Media Group, Inc. announced today that it has acquired D9Sports.com, the most comprehensive source for PIAA District 9 high school sports coverage.
Launched in 2000, D9Sports.com provides in-depth digital content coverage of the 35 PIAA District 9 member high schools spanning 15 counties. Coverage includes various fall, winter, and spring sports.
“D9Sports.com is the go-to source for District 9 sports information,” said EYT Media Group President Jake Bauer. “This move allows us to greatly improve our high school sports coverage while adding to our network of hyperlocal products.”
“We’re extremely excited to build on the success of D9Sports.com. We feel that by applying our business model to an already successful website, we’ll be able to take D9Sports.com to the next level.”
That next level includes increased coverage, a website redesign, and the launch of a mobile app.
“We are really excited about this step. It just seems like the natural progression of the site,” said D9sports.com co-founders Chris Rossetti and Rich Rhoades. “EYT Media and Jake Bauer have been great partners these last three years, and this just solidifies that relationship.”
“When we started the site in the summer of 2000 with Jonathan Shaffer, we never believed it would become what it has. We view this sale as just the natural progression of the site, and our involvement with it won’t change. It should only increase as time goes by. That’s one of the main reasons we sought out a continued ownership stake. We are all very excited about this next step and look forward to officially being part of the EYT Media family.”
Terms of the deal were not disclosed to the public.
