Fairmount City Woman Arrested for Arson

CLARION CO., Pa. (EYT) – A Fairmount City woman has been arrested in connection with a fire that occurred in Clarion County.

According to Clarion-based State Police, 28-year-old Danielle M. Hook, of Fairmount City, was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Duane L. Quinn on charges of arson, criminal mischief, and harassment.

She was lodged in the Clarion County Jail in lieu of $50,000.00 cash bond.

Police say the charges are the result of a Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal investigation into the origin and cause of a fire that destroyed a single-story wood frame dwelling belonging to a Fairmount City man, and occupied by a Knox woman, on Knox Road in Beaver Township, Clarion County.

According to police, the cause of the fire was determined to be an act of arson, and Hook was apprehended approximately 14 hours after the time of the fire.

No injuries were reported in the fire. Damage is estimated at over $100,000.00.

Knox Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
