Redbank Valley Community Center to Host Senior Fair on Saturday

NEW BETHLEHEM, Pa. (EYT) – Redbank Valley Community Center will be hosting its first Senior Fair on Saturday, April 6th, in New Bethlehem.

For Center Director Jennifer Gold, having an event like a senior fair hits close to home.

“I have always had a passion for the elderly,” explained Gold. “As someone who was raised by my grandma and while minoring in gerontology at Slippery Rock University, I have witnessed how all too common it is for the elderly to be overlooked.”

“We want to make sure we are reaching as many people as possible in our community and adding activities for the older generation is important to us going forward. I’m thankful that one of our board members, Linda Ferringer, came up with this idea and has been so helpful with planning it.”

The fair will take place at the Community Center from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

The Senior Fair will aim to provide an informal opportunity for seniors to gain information regarding legal services, health and wellness advice, financial tips, and much more.

There will be representatives present from Seidle Law (estate planning), Spero Group (mental health), Edward Jones (finances), the YMCA (health and wellness), Leach Agency (supplements), the V.N.A. (home health), Brad Bullers (funeral planning), Tri-County Fitness (health and wellness), Moore Physical Therapy (physical therapy), and Clarion Rehab (speech therapy).

While there is no cost for admission, donations towards Redbank Valley Community Center are encouraged.
