Fire Destroys RV, Boat in Washington Township

WASHINGTON TWP., Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshal Unit has released information surrounding a January 14 fire in Washington Township, Jefferson County.

Officials say the fire broke out around 12:22 p.m. at 4934 Route 1830.

The PA State Police Fire Marshal and the Falls Creek Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that destroyed a 1993 Holiday Rambler RV motor home and a 1977 18′ fiberglass Boat at the above location.

John A McCullugh, Sr., 74, of DuBois, is listed as the owner of the RV.

John A McCullugh, Jr., 56, of Reynoldsville, is listed as the owner of the boat.

The fire originated in the RV and spread to the boat. The owners were working on the RV approximately 45 minutes before the fire was discovered.

The RV and boat were unattended when the fire ignited.

Investigators did not indicate the cause of the fire.

Damage is estimated at $25,000.00.

No injuries were reported.
