fire_truck-e1348179123281RINGGOLD, Pa. (EYT) – Punxsutawney-based State Police have released additional details surrounding a Christmas night fire in Ringgold Township, Jefferson County.

Police say the fire broke out around 11:45 p.m. at 3899 State Route 536.

According to police, the owner of the property, John Reed, discovered that his 2006 Freightliner truck was on fire.

Reed moved two vehicles but was unable to move a third vehicle due to its close proximity to the Freightliner.

The fire extended to the third vehicle, a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck, and a two-car garage.

Ringgold Fire Department and other mutual aid companies responded.
The PA State Police Fire Marshal Unit investigated and determined that the fire started in the engine compartment of the 2006 Freightliner; however, a cause has not yet been established.

Total damages to both vehicles and the structure are estimated at $50,000.00.
