Fire Marshal Investigates Blaze in Reynoldsville

investigationREYNOLDSVILLE, Pa. (EYT) – The PA State Police Fire Marshal and Falls Creek Fire Department investigated the origin and cause of a fire that occurred around 3:30 p.m. on April 28 in Reynoldsville, Washington Township, Jefferson County.

According to DuBois-based State Police, the fire destroyed a wood garage and damaged an unoccupied mobile home at 832 Smithtown Road, Reynoldsville.

The cause of the fire was determined to be accidental in nature.

The fire originated in the engine of a 1978 Yamaha 750 motorcycle parked within the entrance of the garage. The fire quickly spread from the motorcycle to the garage structure. The fire then spread from the garage to a nearby unoccupied mobile home owned by Brian E. Park, of Reynoldsville.

There were no injuries.

Damage is estimated at over $100,000.00.
