Katherine Zents, 20, joined the Brookville Volunteer Fire Company two years ago as an active member.
Firefighting is a family tradition in the Zents household. Her father, mother, and brother all currently volunteer at station 2. As a third-generation female firefighter, she grew up in and around the fire house.
She loves the rush when she responds to a call. She is driven by a desire to help others in need, especially those in her community.
Her favorite thing about volunteering with us is knowing that no matter what happens, someone has her back.
