Five Escape Injuries in Vehicle vs. Deer Crash in Sandy Township

car-accident-graphic-5254_jpg_475x310_q85-300x225SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to DuBois-based State Police, a one-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 West, at approximately mile marker 102.4, in Sandy Township, Clearfield County.

Police say 58-year-old Kathleen A. Frame, of Slatington, Pa., was traveling westbound on I-80 and a deer entered the roadway from the right side.

Frame’s 2015 Kia Sorento struck the deer, and the vehicle came to a controlled final rest on the right berm of I-80 facing westbound.

Frame and the following passengers were using seat belts and were not injured:

– 61-year-old Mary L. Williams, of Bethlehem, Pa.
– 80-year-old Marjorie J. Allwood, of Bethlehem, Pa.
– a known 8-year-old female passenger, of Walnut Port, Pa.
– a known 9-year-old male passenger, of Walnut Port, Pa.

The vehicle sustained disabling damage and was towed from the scene by Mottman’s Towing.
