Five People Injured in One-Vehicle Rollover Crash on Route 119

HENDERSON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – According to Punxsutawney-based State Police, this morning around 2:40 a.m., a one-vehicle accident occurred on State Route 119, near Biggie’s Meats, in Henderson Township, Jefferson County.

Police say a 2004 Toyota 4 Runner was traveling south on SR 119 and failed to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway.

According to police, the Toyota was traveling at a very high rate of speed and traveled off the west berm of SR 119 before the operator counter steered back onto the roadway, causing the vehicle to travel back across both travel lanes.

The vehicle then traveled off the SR 119 east berm and overturned multiple times and came to a final rest on its wheels, facing due west and in a ditch.

Four of the five occupants were ejected from the vehicle and were flown to Altoona Hospital.

Three suffered moderate injuries; one suffered serious injuries.

The fifth occupant suffered minor injuries.

None of the occupants were using seat belts.

The vehicle was towed from the scene by Brosius Towing Service.

Big Run Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.

Names of the occupants were not released.
