Flat Tire Causes Crash in Huston Twp.

state_policeHUSTON TOWNSHIP, Pa. (EYT) – State Police in DuBois report one person was injured in a June 24 crash along State Park Road near Oak Stub Road in Huston Township, Clearfield County.

According to police, the crash happened around 9:00 a.m. when the left rear tire “broke free” from a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado operated by Matthew A. Hammel, 35, Clearfield.

The tire crossed the southbound lane of the roadway and struck the front end of a 2008 Lexus E8350 traveling in the opposite direction and operated by Stephanie R. Henderson, 37, Clearfield.

Henderson was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for treatment of minor injuries.

Hammel was wearing a seat belt and escaped injury.

Police were assisted at the scene by Bennetts Valley EMS and fire services.
