Florence A. Gullifer

Florence A. Gullifer, 89, formerly of 230 Birch Street, Kane, died late Monday afternoon, February 16, 2015 at Sena Kean Manor in Smethport.

Born May 31, 1925 in Instanter, she was the daughter of Igancs and Josephine Malok Bodistow.

On July 5, 1947 in Kane, she married Wilbur D. Gullifer, who died in 2009.

Mrs. Gullifer worked at Stackpole Corp. in Kane for many years, and later was a cook at The Lutheran Home at Kane for eight years.

She was a member of St. Callistus Catholic Church and enjoyed baking.

Surviving are a son, Ronald W. Gullifer of Kane; a daughter, Fay Wittenburg of Petrolia; two sisters, Mary Brechtel of Kane and Virginia Padasak of Glen Hazel, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death, besides her husband and parents, are a son Gary Gullifer in 1993; sisters Amelia Pavlock, Sophie Tomaski and Helen Zimmerman; and brothers Tony, Joe, Peter and John Bodistow.

Friends may call at the Ronald McDonald II Funeral Home, Inc. in Kane on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., where a Vigil Service will be held at 7:45 p.m., and may attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. on Friday with the Very Rev. Philip Pinczewski, pastor, as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Kane.
