Floyd C. Burley Jr.

Floyd C. Burley Jr., 87, of Smithtown Road, Falls Creek, died Friday, March 30, 2018, at Christ the King Manor.

Born March 27, 1931, in Tyler, PA; he was the son of the late Floyd Burley Sr. and the Hattie (Cribbs) Burley. He was preceded in death by his wife Vivian on August 4, 2017.

Floyd was an Army veteran serving in the military police in Alaska. He worked for Gray Painting and Owens-Illionis in Brockway until his retirement in 1993.

He enjoyed writing journals about his life and family. He enjoyed time spent at his camp in Benezette. He enjoyed his grandchildren and family at weekly Sunday dinners.

He is survived by three sons, Kenneth Burley of Falls Creek, William Burley of DuBois, and David Burley (Michele) of Falls Creek; brother, Harold Burley (Patsy) of DuBois; three grandchildren, Renee Gressler (Michael) of DuBois, Megan Hoover (Jordan) of DuBois, and Zachary Burley (fiancee Jennifer Holley) of Philadelphia.

He was predeceased by a son, Randy Burley, three sisters, Rosa McConnell, Mary Bish, and Lois Stockdale, and two infant brothers.

There will be no public visitation.

A Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Smithtown Community Church located at 3154 Smithtown Road, Falls Creek, Pennsylvania, with the Pastor Harold Hills officiating. Military honors will be performed by the DuBois Area Honor Guard following the service Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery, DuBois, PA.
