Forest County Students Learn About the 50 States, Capitals

TIONESTA, Pa. (EYT) – The students in Mr. Hale’s Fourth Grade at West Forest Elementary are learning the fifty states and capitals.

Each student chose a state to design a stamp.

Following a list of criteria – such as state flags, birds, trees, flowers, and logos – the students looked online to find state information for images on their stamp posters.

The students made rough drafts and then decided what layout would be used for their pictures.

A final copy was designed and attached to a colored border.

Each student was then given a colored copy of their state stamp poster and included it with a letter written to the governor of their chosen state.

Librarian Jane Boyles and guest volunteer Carole Hall assisted the children.
