Frances Jane (English) Bishop

1733823_profile_picFrances Jane (English) Bishop, 90, of Rossiter went to be with the lord on January 16, 2016, at her home with her loving family by her side.

Jane was born on December 25, 1925 in Caledonia, the daughter of the late Eli and Mary (Tyler) English.

Jane married Walter Bishop on August 23, 1947.  They were married for thirty years before Walter passed on October 22, 1977.

Jane was a member of the Canoe Ridge Church of God.  Jane was also a member of the Rossiter American Legion and enjoyed her daily trips to visit her legion family.

Jane worked at the Loree Shoe Factory and later owned and operated The Green Village in Rossiter with her husband and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Rose Basile.

Jane was a loving and devoted mother.  She is survived by two sons: Jeff Bishop of Meadville, Kenny and wife Shelly Bishop of Punxsutawney; three daughters: Becky and husband Therm Brickell of Rossiter, Kae and husband John Shiock of Indiana, and Kim and husband Doug Stiver of Punxsutawney; ten grandchildren: Michael Bishop, Missy and husband Jeremy Buterbaugh, Ben Bishop, Reggie and wife Carrie Bishop, Alicia and husband Steve White, Alyson and husband Michael Janocha, Bobby Ray Shiock, Amy Shiock, Andy Stiver, and Kaela Stiver; ten great-grandchildren, Destiny, Santana, Cameron, Chloe, Jude, Layla, Zach, Shawna, Addison, and Alexis, with another expected in March.  Jane is also survived by her companion of many years, Johnny Shaffer; three sisters: Ida Lasley, Nelda Shields, and Beb Weaver; her sister-in-law Betty Jane Clontz; her “extra” children and grandchildren: Bobby and Lisa Clontz, Jayne and Ron Shaffer, Terry Clontz, Jenilee Wright, Kelly Nanni, Angel Clontz, Tina Barkley, and many other who called her “mom” and loved her dearly.

Jane was preceded in death by her husband Walter; her infant son Bobbie Ray; three brothers: Clyde, Sam, and Eli Jr English; and six sisters: Annabelle Whidden, Audrey Gaston, Hazel Tyger, Lola Gaston, Joyce Dunmire, and infant Amy English.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2016, and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2016, at Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Earl Flick officiating.

Interment will be at Union Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canoe Ridge Church of God, Union Cemetery Association, or the Rossiter American Legion.
