Francis D. “Frank” Trunzo

OI1197963259_OlderFTrunzoFrancis D. “Frank” Trunzo, age 92, of West Clarion Road, Brockway, Pa, died on Friday, March 6 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born in Brockway on February 10, 1923 he was the son of the late Angelo and Francesca Carmella Trunzo. In 1947, he was married to Josephine Bullers and she preceded him in death on December 22, 2001.

Retired, he was employed as a Mould Maker at Brockway Glass for 45 years. Frank was a U.S. Navy WW II Veteran and saw action as a gunner in the Battle of Okinawa and participated in the D-Day Invasion.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Brockway where he served as an Elder. Frank was also a member of the Brockway Sportsmens Club, the S.O.I. Club and was a member of Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the Amerian Legion in Brockway. He enjoyed farming, hunting, and metal fabrication; farm life, and making things out of metal, especially silver bracelets.

He is survived by a daughter Joy (Thomas) McDonald of Brockway and a son Richard (Clara) Trunzo of Brockport; three grandchildren Justin (Amy) Trunzo, Jasmin (Justin) Miller, Jasara Trunzo and two great grandchildren Alex and Austin. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by 13 brothers and sisters: Elizabeth “Betty” Trunzo, Mary Martucci, Joseph Trunzo, John Trunzo, Magdalena Fritz, Tomasina Evers, Jenny Trunzo, Anthony Trunzo, Samual Trunzo, Edith Manning, Victoria Fustine, an infant sister Angelina and an infant brother Joseph.

Calling hours will be on Monday, March 9 from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.

The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Clair Lundberg officiating. Burial will follow at the Butler Cemetery in Brookville. Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnatti Post #95 of the American Legion Tuesday morning at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to the DuBois Nursing Home.
