Frederick Merle Duttry

Frederick Merle Duttry age 91 of Falls Creek, PA; died on Wednesday, November 2, 2021 at his residence.

Born on November 2, 1930 in St Marys, PA; he was the son of the late Hillard and Ida Pfoutz Duttry.

On June 27, 1953 he was married to Pauline Rose Weisner and she survives.

Retired, Fred had been employed by the B & O Railroad as a welder, conductor and brakeman for 40 plus years.

Fred was a U.S. Army Veteran and served in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

He also was a member of the Army’s Airborne Rangers and was a member at St. Bernard’s Church in Falls Creek.

Fred was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything.

He had a love for chainsaws all his life and enjoyed cutting firewood especially working side by side with his son Rick.

He also had a love for all dogs, and treated the many he had over the years as if they were his own kids.

In addition to his wife he is also survived by a daughter Cindee DeJohn of Falls Creek, a son Scott (Cindy) Duttry of Byrnedale, PA; a daughter Sharon Mooney Ream of Falls Creek; a son Kirk (Nancy) Duttry of Reynoldsville and a son Rick (Pinkie) Duttry also of Falls Creek; 9 grandchildren: Heather Ecklund, Larry “Beaner” DeJohn, Leslie Rinyu, Jimmy Duttry, Michael Duttry, Travis Mooney, Paula Roland, Jason Duttry and Maria Wright.

Fred is also survived by 22 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by a sister Shirley Lewis and a son in law David “Delby” Mooney.

Calling hours will be on Friday from 5PM to 8PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway and from 10 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday Morning.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM also at the funeral home with Fr. Ed Walk officiating.

Burial will follow in St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway.

Full Military Honors will be accorded by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion Saturday morning at the cemetery.
