JEFFERSON COUNTY, Pa. – A Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued for Jefferson County and surrounding areas.

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh issued the following Freezing Rain Advisory at 3:17 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2015:

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FREEZING
RAIN ADVISORY…WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EST THIS MORNING.

* ICE ACCUMULATIONS…AROUND A TRACE.

* ICE ENDING…AROUND 8 AM.

* IMPACTS…LIGHT AMOUNTS OF ICING WILL CAUSE SOME ROADS AND
SIDEWALKS TO BECOME SLICK AND HAZARDOUS. USE EXTREME CAUTION
WHEN OUTDOORS AS AREAS THAT LOOK WET MAY BE ICED OVER. IF YOU
MUST DRIVE…BE EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS AS YOU WILL ENCOUNTER ICE
ON THE ROADS AT TIMES.
