Friday’s High School Baseball Roundup: DCC Tops Redbank Valley

DUBOIS, Pa. (D9Sports) – Thomas Grecco, Noah Bloom and Justin Miknis combined on a three-hitter to lead DuBois Central Catholic to a 6-1 win over visiting Redbank Valley.

Grecco got the win going four innings allowing one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four. Bloom followed up with two innings walking three and striking out two. Miknis then finished up going one innings striking out three.

Austen Cogley and Brandon Walker had doubles for the Cardinals offense with Walker scoring a run and driving in a run and Cogley driving in three. Garret Prosper added a pair of singles, an RBI and a run scored.

Scott Toth was 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for Redbank Valley. Bryan Layton also doubled and scored a run.

Nick Smith took the loss going four innings allowing six runs, four earned, on five hits and five walks.

CLEARFIELD 12, BROOKVILLE 2, 6 INNINGS

HYDE, Pa. — Will Myers scattered six hits over six innings while striking out eight and walking one, and was one of five players with two hits in Clearfield’s 12-2 win over Brookville via the 10-Run Rule in six innings.

Myers, Zane Morgan, Reese Wilson, Thayne Morgan and Seth Bombarder each had two hits with Myers, Wilson and Eli Glass hitting doubles. The Bison took a 7-2 lead into the bottom of the sixth before scoring five runs with two outs, ending the game.

Ben Caun hit a solo home run for the Raiders. Aaron Park singled in a run in the third inning. The Bison had 11 hits off Raiders pitchers Bryan Dworek and Dane Lyle.
