Fundraiser Established for Local 11-Year-Old Boy with Genetic Disorder

landonSUMMERVILLE, Pa. – Landon is 11 years old and lives in Summerville.

He is a bright young man who can bring a smile to anyone’s face.

What most people don’t know is that Landon has PTEN genetics disorder. He suffers from vascular masses that grow not only on his body, but in his body.

He currently has three masses; one on his side, one on his back, and one on his liver. These masses are roughly the size of a softball.

His mother takes him back and forth to Children’s Hospital to meet with the team of doctors who are trying to find a way to remove the mass from his liver and the other two from his body.

They will have to attempt to stop the blood flow to the masses then remove the disease from them. Removing the mass from the liver is a difficult procedure; but if not done, it will increase the risk of Landon developing kidney and bladder issues.

Despite the medical issues that Landon faces on a daily basis, he still acts like any normal kid.

He goes to school, hangs out with his brother, and loves his mom more than anything.

This disorder is something that Landon will have to deal with the rest of his life, which includes doctors appointments, testing, and more procedures to remove future masses. His mom does everything in her power to make sure that Landon gets to lead as normal of a life as he can.

His family has enough stress of keeping their child happy and as healthy as possible, and now they have medical bills and gas bills that are coming in from the many procedures and tests.

A GoFundMe page has been started to help this loving family with the expenses that come along with this disease. Hopefully, we can help take the burden of medical expenses off their backs and let them enjoy the good times together without having to stress.
