Kenneth Earl Rowles III, 42, was originally charged by Clearfield-based state police with two counts of trafficking in minors and four counts each of rape of child, statutory sexual assault: 11 years older, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse-person less than 16 years and involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with child, all felonies.

Rowles waived his right to a preliminary hearing on all the charges Monday, with exception to the two felony counts of trafficking in minors, which were withdrawn. His bail remains set at $250,000 monetary.

The assaults occurred several times between March 1 and Dec. 8, according to the affidavit of probable cause filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Mike Morris.

The girl was interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center of Clearfield County on Dec. 9. She said Rowles offered her gold coins to perform sex acts, but she never received any coins. She said she felt pressured, and this happened a lot.
