GANT: Interstate 80 Re-opened After Multiple Crashes in Clearfield County

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. – Multiple vehicle crashes, due to Saturday morning’s winter weather, shut down Interstate 80 in Clearfield County.

I-80 east has since re-opened after being closed for approximately seven hours in Lawrence Township, according to Clearfield-based state police.

Among the crashes was a major pile-up in the area of mile-markers115 and 116 east at 7 a.m., which involved semi-trucks and passenger cars.

Multiple people were entrapped and had to be extricated from their vehicles. Emergency personnel transported multiple patients from the scene with injuries.
