George A. Miller

George Miller PhotoGeorge A. Miller, age 93, passed away on May 22, 2016, at the Penn Highlands Brookville Hospital.

He was the son of the late Harry J. and Mabel (Stahlman) Miller, born on March 30, 1923 in Frogtown, Clarion County.

After completing high school, George served his country as a member of the United States Army Air Corp. He was a pilot during the Second World War.

On November 4, 1944, he married Cleo Ilene Miller who preceded him in death in 2015. They resided in Frogtown until 2004 when he and Cleo moved to the Laurels in Brookville.

George was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Shannondale, American Legion Post 66 in Clarion, and Clarion Lodge 277 of the Masons. He was a charter member and Past Chief of the Limestone Volunteer Fire Department.

He designed and built many mechanical and motorized pieces after he retired as a carrier from the United States Postal Service.

George is survived by many nieces and nephews, great- nieces and nephews and extended family.

In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a brother, Woodrow Miller, and a sister, Mary (Miller) Berkhouse.

Memorial donations may be made in George’s name to Zion Lutheran Church, 3117 Pine Run Rd, Mayport PA 16240, or W.R.C., Laurel Brooke Landing, Brookville PA 15825.

A memorial service will be held at Zion Lutheran Church on June 8, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jim Steingass officiating.
