George E. Donahue, Jr.

George E. Donahue, Jr., 77, of DuBois, PA, died Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born on August 10, 1943 in DuBois, PA, he was the son of the late George E. and Kathryn (Neeper) Donahue, Sr.

George graduated from the DuBois High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force.

On August 17, 1963 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, he married his wife of 57 years, Karen A. (Boring) Donahue. She survives.

George retired from Gasbarre Products Pressed Division and previous to that he spent most of his life in law enforcement.

He was a past member of the Sandy Hose Company #1, was a member of the George D. Montgomery American Legion Post 17, enjoyed camping and above all, spending time with his family.

George is also survived by his children, Brian Donahue, Bradley Donahue and his wife Barb, Jim Donahue & his wife Cathy, all of DuBois, PA, George E. Donahue III and his husband Felix Torres of Charlotte, NC and Sue Anne Pridgen and her husband Charles of Rocky Mount, NC. He is also survived by three brothers, Lance, Russell and Fred Donahue; son-in-law John Shaffer; four grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Mary Shaffer.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 25, 2021 from 1 PM – 4 PM at the Baronick Funeral Home & Crematorium, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 11 AM from the funeral home with Pastor David Nagele officiating. Burial will take place in Morningside Cemetery.
