Georgena L. Place


Georgena L. Place, 97, DuBois, passed away Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born November 12, 1923, in DuBois, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Daisy (Kline) Clinton.

On August 17, 1940, she married Samuel H. Place in DuBois. He preceded her in death on February 6, 1989.

Georgena graduated from Sandy High School.

She was homemaker who enjoyed spending time at camp, listening to country music at the Hickory Grange, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

Georgena attended Tri-County Church and Narrows Creek Church.

Georgena is survived by three children, Richard (Gail) Place, Brockway, Deborah (Frank) Murone, Brockway, and Donna (Tom) Coder, Treasure Lake; six grandchildren, Paul Crytser, Joshua (Brooke) Gertz, Nick (Kristi) Murone, Natalie (Brent) Witherson, Zack Murone, and Dr. Julie Murone; seven great-grandchildren, Reese, Emma, Havanna, Rylie, Easton, Rosalie, and Tripp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Glenn, Harry, James, and Dale Clinton, and an infant sister, Pauline Clinton.

Friends and family will be received Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 1-4 p.m. at the Adamson Funeral Chapel and Crematorium.

Following the visitation, a funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. from the funeral chapel with Pastor Robert Dornan officiating.

Interment will be in Morningside Cemetery.
