Gertrude “Mae” Muth

Gertrude “Mae” Muth, age 91, of Kilmer Road, DuBois, PA died Sunday, November 8, 2015 at the DuBois Nursing Home.

Born March 17, 1924 in Sabula, PA, she was the daughter of the late John H. & A. Gertrude (Beer) Bish.

On October 3, 1946, she married Homer L. Muth. He preceded her in death on January 4, 2011.

She was a member of Light and Life Free Methodist Church in DuBois. She was active in her church, teaching Sunday School and Summer Bible School and was treasurer of the Church Women’s Missionary Society. She enjoyed annually attending the Free Methodist Women’s Retreats at Wesley Woods, Pleasantville, PA. She was a member of the DuBois Area School Retirees. She enjoyed sewing, making quilts and crocheting afghans.

She was a member of Sabula Homemakers. She was known for her homemade bread and making apple butter with her friends.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley M. Patton and her husband, Darrell and Patricia L. Muth, both of DuBois, PA, two brothers, John “Jack” Bish and wife, Irene of Mt. Jewett, PA and Lewis Bish and his wife, Norma of Tacoma, WA and a sister, Ethel Baughman of Reynoldsville, PA two grandchildren, Darrell Patton, Jr. of DuBois, PA and Jonathan Patton and his wife, Denise of Greer, South Carolina, and three great grandchildren, Morgan, Isabel and Olivia Patton.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Delbert Bish and four sisters, Margaret Muth, Wilda Weber, Sara Clouser and Leah Kalgren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 3-7 P.M. at the Goble Baronick Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at 11 A.M. from the Light and Life Free Methodist Church with Pastor Mark Lutcher officiating.

Burial will be in Emmanuel Boone Mountain Cemetery.
