Gloria E. Bowers

Gloria E. Bowers, 69, Punxsutawney, died Saturday, January 20, 2018, at DuBois Nursing Home.

She was born June 21, 1948, in Punxsutawney, daughter of the late Arlene M. (Zilleoux) and Philip Adams.

On April 20, 1973, she married George A. Bowers, who survives.

Gloria worked as a cook at The Anchor Inn in Punxsutawney for over thirty years. She enjoyed shopping, bingo, tanning, loved cats, loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was always on the go.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, son Philip Cameron of Punxsutawney, daughter Lisa Bowers and boyfriend Bob Cochran of Marion Center, and daughter Stefanie Wyant and husband Nathan of Punxsutawney; eight grandchildren, Gary Cameron, Derek Cameron, Jessica Duck, Justina “Teenie” Cameron, Lyndsay Bowers, Sydni Bowers, and Brody and Tanner Wyant; three great-grandchildren, Carter Buck and Cole Bair and Dwayne Weaver; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Philip “Sonny” Adams.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the funeral home with Pastor Tom Blose officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Punxsutawney.
