Grant E. Jackson

Grant E. Jackson, 92, died June 25, 2015 in Naples, FL.

Mr. Jackson was born on June 14, 1923, in Shawmut, PA. He was the son of the late Earl E. and Mabel M. Jackson. Mr. Jackson graduated from Horton Township High School in 1941, and from Penn State University in 1948.

He served in the U.S. Army Air Force from June 1943 until September 1945, serving with the 15th Air Force Squadron in Italy from March 1944 until June 1945. He entered employment at H.J. Heinz Company in Pittsburgh, PA. in June of 1948. He held various management positions before retiring as General Manager of Distribution and Customer Service in June of 1995, after 48 years with the company. With the exception of the Air Force and Penn State University, Mr. Jackson lived in the Shawmut/Brockport area from June 1923 until June 1948 and then he resided in Pittsburgh, PA from June 1948 until 1999.

After retirement, he resided in Estero, FL and then Naples, FL. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bonita Springs, FL.

He was also a life member of the Certified Practitioners Interstate Commission, American Society Traffic/Transportation Association, National Freight Association and Traffic Club of Pittsburgh and the Food Grocers’ Manufactures Association of America. He also had affiliations with the Penn State Alumni Association of Ft. Meyers, FL. and the Elk Lodge #2753 in Bonita Springs, FL.

He was married to Nancy Jane Fuchs of Bellvue, PA on November 18, 1950; she preceded him in death on March 20, 1980 at the age of 48. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Karen M. Jackson of Denver, CO.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane (Cory) Koos of Erie, PA and Patricia (Larry) Lutz of Portage, MI. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Jenna (Andy) Cotherman, Joshua (Nikki) Zeyfang, Austin (Courtney) Zeyfang, Spencer Zeyfang, Colin Zeyfang, Marshall Zeyfang, Rachel Lutz, Jared Lutz, Adam Lutz, Katherine Sherry, and Zachary Sherry; and one great-grandchild, Brynlee Zeyfang (Joshua and Nikki)
A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Tobias Cemetery in Brockway, PA with Pastor Cory Koos officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by Parson-Marnati Post #95 of the American Legion.
