Gregory A. “Newt” Barnett, 43, of Crestwood Park Circle, Brookville, Pa., died Sunday, August, 17, 2014 at home.
Born September 28, 1970, he was the son of Gary L. Barnett and Janet I. Weary Barnett, who both survive in Brookville.
Gregory was married to Kristy M. Wilson, who also survives, on August 16, 2003 in Brookville.
He was employed in the restaurant at the Truck Stops of American in Brookville and also in the maintenance department at Walmart in DuBois, Pa.
Gregory was a member of the Stanton United Methodist Church, the Brookville Raider Quarterback Club, and was a manager for Brookville football and basketball.
He enjoyed the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates. Gregory also enjoyed going to Bennezette to go elk watching, going to the beach, and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents and wife, Gregory is survived by his paternal grandmother, Larue Barnett, of Brookville; his maternal grandmother, Blanche Weary, of Brookville; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; a niece, Carly; and a nephew, Tyler. He is also survived by one brother, Shawn M. Barnett (Tara) of Brookville.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville.
The service will be held at the Stanton United Methodist Church on Friday, August 22 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Roger Howard presiding.
Internment will be at St. John’s Cemetery (Windy Hill) in Rose Township, Jefferson County.
Memorials may be sent to the Stanton United Methodist Church at 189 Staton Rd. Brookville, Pa. or to the donor’s choice.
