Grover Wayne Ferringer

Grover Wayne Ferringer, 89 formerly of Hawthorn, died Thursday morning, April 25, at the Jefferson Manor in Brookville.

He was born on January 19, 1924 in Porter Township, Clarion County and son of Grover and Lottie (Neal) Ferringer. He married Pauline G. (Henry) on November 19, 1948 and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2008.

He was a member of the Nevin Memorial United Church of Christ in Frogtown. He served his country in World War 2 with the United States Army and he belonged to the Walter W. Craig Post # 354 New Bethlehem American Legion. He also belonged to the New Bethlehem Masonic Lodge # 522, the Hawthorn Lions Club and the Hawthorn Area Fire Dept.

He is survived by a son, Kenneth Ferringer and his wife Tina of Fairbanks, Alaska, two grandsons, Shawn Ferringer and his wife Tina of North Pole, Alaska and Justin Ferringer and his wife Parvin of Fairbanks, Alaska, and three great grandchildren, Neeyah Ferringer, Isaiah Ferringer, and Hayden Ferringer.

In addition to his parents and wife, Pauline, he was preceded in death by a sister, Garnet Harriger and a brother, Arnold Ferringer.

Visitation will be on Sunday fron 2 – 4 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. The funeral service will be held on Monday, April 29 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Sam Swick officiating. Interment will be in the New Bethlehem Cemetery.
