Harold D. Minich

Minich HaroldHarold D. Minich, 85, of Summerville (Kingsville), died Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at the Clarion Hospital.

Born on April 14, 1930 in Dry Ridge, he was the son of Earl and Edna (Shaffer) Minich. On September 14, 1957, he married Carol (Keck).

Harold served his country during the Korean War from 1951 to 1954 with the United States Army as a dispatcher.

He was a self employed truck driver. After he retired from that, he worked for Glenn Redi Mix.

Harold enjoyed woodworking and was known for his sense of humor.

He is survived by his wife of almost 58 years, Carol Minich of Kingsville, a daughter, Leslie Minich Beichner and her husband Mark of Kingsville, two sisters, Gladys Mull of Florida and Jo Ann O’Neal of Kittanning, a brother, Gerald Minich of Kingsville and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Martz, Helen Holibaugh and Ruth Minich and five brothers, Wallace, Bernard, Max, Russell, and Blaine Minich.

Visitation will be on Sunday, July 12, 2015 from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 at the Alcorn Funeral Home in Hawthorn. A Prayer Vigil will be held on Sunday evening at 6:30 at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 11:00 am at the St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Crates with Rev. Father Sam Bungo officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery in Crates.
