Harold J. “Wimpy” Collins, 85, of Route 219 Brockway, PA; died on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.
Born in Westville, PA on January 9, 1931 he was the son of the late Duncan and Sarah Morris Collins.
He was married to Alberta J. Unsworth and she preceded him in death on October 14, 2005. Retired, he was employed as a Shift Foreman in the Hot End at Brockway Glass in Crenshaw. Wimpy was a U.S. Navy Peace Time veteran and was Methodist by faith. He was the oldest living member at both the Orient Club in Brockway and the V.F.W. Club in Crenshaw. He enjoyed camping at East Branch Dam and hanging out with his dogs.
He is survived by a daughter Sharon (Eric) Davey of Brockport; 2 sons Gary (Cindi) Collins and Tom Collins both of Brockway and one brother Kenneth (Jean) Collins of Orlando, Florida. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren Heidi Lillibridge, Angie Shahmoradi, Thomas J. Collins, Erica Davey, Rebecca Davey, Hilliary Davey and 4 great-grandchildren Hannah Shahmoradi, Rebel Will, Marley Rei Johnson, Matty Lillibridge.
In addition to his parents and his wife he is also preceded in death by a twin brother Donald “Snapper” Collins and a sister Doris Hook.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Carlson-Shugarts Funeral Home Inc. in Brockway.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 2 at 10:00 AM also at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Nagele officiating.
