Harriet F. Sprankle

Harriet F. Sprankle, 82, of Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at her home, surrounded by family.

She was born August 18, 1940, in Jackson Township, Cambria County, a daughter of the late Violet M. (Davis) and Raymond U. Schrack.

On January 9, 1959, she married Robert G. “Bob” Sprankle, who preceded her in death on December 10, 2018.

Harriet was a homemaker and a member of the Scotland Avenue Church of God.

She loved her church and her church family.

She enjoyed baking, decorating cakes, reading, crocheting, listening to southern gospel music, shopping and spending time with her family.

Harriet is survived by three children, Patty Cunningham and husband Phil of Punxsutawney, Donna Mancuso and husband David of Fairview, and David Sprankle and wife Staphani of Shippenville; eight grandchildren, Drew Cunningham and Shanon Blose, Sarah (Cunningham) Downer and husband Blake, Brandon and Nick Mancuso, Breanna and Abigail Sprankle and Briana and RyAnn Crusan; three great-grandchildren, Kade, Knox and Kash Downer; and a sister Ruth Turnbull of Rochester Mills.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Schrack and three sisters, Betty Stephens, Evelyn “Peep” Clouser and Martha “Lucy” Stephanic.

Friends will be received from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023, at the Deeley Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

A funeral service will be held immediately following visitation beginning at 3 p.m., with Pastor Jen Chaffee.

Interment will be in Valier Cemetery, Valier.

Memorial contributions may be made, in memory of Mrs. Sprankle, to the Scotland Avenue Church of God, 1263 Scotland Avenue, Punxsutawney, PA 15767.
