Harry Russell Hawk

Harry Russell Hawk, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at the age of 64, due to a subdural hematoma blood clot, at University Hospital, Syracuse, NY.

He was born in Brookville, PA on February 6, 1951. He will be lovingly and deeply missed by his wife, Susanne Marie (Schaner) Hawk , married on April 1, 1977.

He will be missed also by his parents, Edwin and Joan Hawk; sister. Patricia (John)Greeno; brother, Ed (Ali) Hawk; nephews, Caleb Hawk and James Greeno (his Godson); nieces, Emily Greeno and Kristin Schaner; brother in law, John (Carol) Schaner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. In addition, he was predeceased by Ward Hughey; his grandparents, Ward and Twila Hughey; Delbert and Alice Hawk and Harry and Bertha Kunselman.

Harry was a Penn State graduate, earning a degree in law enforcement and corrections. He worked at Cornell University Department of Public Safety, George Junior Republic and most recently with the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Department. He loved sports, excelling in table tennis, playing (winning) tournaments in the US, Canada and Ireland.

There are no calling hours or services. The family would like to thank the Neuroscience ICU, nursing staff and doctors on 9F, for their kindness and assistance.
