Details of the case:

According to a criminal complaint, around 2:57 p.m. on November 3, Brookville Borough Police received a call from Jefferson County Chief Deputy Sam Bartley regarding a Protection from Abuse (PFA) order hearing that had taken place that day at the Jefferson County Courthouse.

The complaint indicates Chief Deputy Bartley was called by the court to escort the known female victim to her vehicle for safety. He reported the victim was followed by Joseph Huntington, who was reportedly irate and began to swear at him and the victim regarding the court hearing.

Chief Deputy Bartley then instructed Huntington to remove himself immediately, but Huntington reportedly refused and then blocked the victim’s exit by placing his foot under the rear tire of her vehicle in the rear parking lot of the courthouse.

According to the complaint, Huntington also threatened to kill the victim.

Huntington was arraigned in front of Magisterial District Judge Gregory M Bazylak at 4:43 p.m. on November 3.
